Is it possible to buy House Sparrows in pet stores?

I have recently taken interest in House Sparrows however my mother won't let me have another pet and she hates birds. I'm willing to wait the remaining two years I have left until I turn eighteen and've moved out to get one. I was just wondering if it was possible to buy one at a pet shop or an animal rescue center or whatever. I wouldn't feel comfortable just catching one and sticking it in a cage and taking it away from a familiar environment and i don't plan on it either.
