Is it possible that I saw my dead dog?

Well my old dog Fritzzy the 1st he died when I was 5 and a year or so after he died I saw him by the dish washer no joke I saw the newer dog Gretchen down stairs so there was no way it was her I know it was him he was just sitting there staring at me now my parents said that he defended me with his life he growled at anyone when they yelled at me, even tried to punish me he growled at them is it possible he was trying to say good bye to me cause I didnt get to see him when he died
